Edward has worked with several consulting and analysis companies over 15 years.
He was a Senior Associate managing aerospace, defence and security projects for global A&D prime as well as public sector groups, the latter principally in the UK. He managed trans-Atlantic teams and multiple external personnel covering strategic and operational analysis, focused on market assessment and competitive intelligence, strategic positioning / market capture and M&A assistance, either buy- or sell-side.
He has had numerous appearances over the years as aviation and defence guest expert on BBC, Sky, Bloomberg, CNBC, Al Jazeera and similar international news channels as well as presentations and round-table discussions with senior aerospace, defence and security figures at major events.
He has written extensively for RUSI, Jane’s Shephard Media and Royal Aeronautical Society. He is a member of the RAF Club in London
He is now Director of Blue 5 Consulting based in Trieste, Italy, and is part of a start-up company looking to develop next-generation USVs for defence and security roles.
Blue 5 Consulting was established in 2017 by Edward Hunt, a defence consultant with 20 years experience in the industry.
He was previously an analyst at a London financial company, was head of Jane’s Information Services UK Consulting and Air teams, and Senior Associate at an Anglo-American consultancy.
The company BLUE 5 is based in Trieste, Italy, and has a range of operating areas of which consultancy is the primary focus.
The company has enjoyed excellent repeat business and has been used by OEMs for a wide range of work, including corporate strategy planning and reviews.
Edward has been heavily involved in government projects covering external security matters, local security projects, key defence programmes and export strategy evaluations.
It has also provided low-level media-monitoring services, collating evidence and evaluating client perception across differing formats and platforms.
Blue 5 Consulting uses a range of external specialists on a per-project basis, selected from experience with the defence and security industry and a broad expert network.
The company works under NDAs and staff have previously been granted UK defence security clearance.
